Health Insurance

Mandatory Generic Requirement

Many full time contractual employees, and their families, are eligible for a standard health insurance package (depending on their collective bargaining agreement) consisting of medical, prescription, dental and vision coverage (again depending on their collective bargaining agreement). Covered employees are obligated to contribute toward the cost of this coverage as defined in NJ Public Law 2011, Chapter 78. Additionally, employees must also select alternative coverage packages, or waive benefits as defined in various collective bargaining agreements and/or employment contracts.

PLEASE NOTE: An employee’s Health Care Benefits begin on their first day of employment unless otherwise stated in their Collective Bargaining Agreement or Independent Contract. Please check your Collective Bargaining Association Contract, your Association Representative or the Human Resources Department.

All employee(s) Health Care Benefits terminate on the employee's last day of employment in the district.

COBRA information will be sent to all eligible employees if they wish to continue Health Care Benefits through the district’s COBRA Plan.

Confidential assistance with medical claims, as well as non-confidential issues concerning health insurance is available through Stella Gizas, Health Benefits Cooridnator.
