School Procedures

Visitors' Policy

For the safety of our students and staff, our building remains locked during regular school hours. Visitors may only enter through the main entrance. Please ring the bell to be buzzed in. A video monitoring system, managed from the main office, is in place. Upon entry, please proceed directly to the main office. If you will be staying in the building, you must sign in and wear a visitor's badge, which will be provided. Staff members are instructed to question anyone in the halls without a badge. This policy is strictly enforced for the safety of your children, and we greatly appreciate your cooperation.

Arrival Reminders:

Please remember that our school day starts promptly at 8:55 AM and ends at 3:25 PM.

Students may be dropped off at school between 8:45-8:55 AM. Parents must wait until a staff member comes outside before leaving their children at the entrance or letting them out of the vehicle in the drop-off zone. There is no supervision before 8:45 AM, thus students are not permitted to wait alone. Parents are not allowed to walk their children to the classrooms. Staff members will supervise students' entry into the building and classrooms.

If you need to speak with someone in the main office or nurse's office, please ring the bell and wait for a staff member to invite you in.

Dismissal Reminders:

Kindergarten and first-grade students, along with their siblings, must be met by an adult or an older sibling. Parents may park in an approved spot, meet their children at the side door, and then accompany them to their vehicle.

Parents of students in grades 2-5 may meet their child near the blue benches, the school sign, or in the upper playground areas, or wait in the pick-up line for their child to be dismissed to their vehicle by a staff member. Cars should only be parked in approved parking spaces; parking along sidewalks is not permitted.

Bus students are dismissed to their buses and monitored by staff through the main entrance.

Attendance and Early Pick-Up:

Regular attendance is crucial for student success. Parents should encourage students to make every effort to attend school regularly. It is important to arrive on time each day and stay for the entire school day. Please schedule doctor’s appointments or other commitments that might require early dismissal outside of instructional hours. If you must remove your child before 3:15 PM, enter a note into the Genesis parent portal before 11 AM or call the main office after 11 AM. Do not email teachers regarding early dismissal.

When picking up your child before student dismissal, proceed to the main office and sign them out. If your child arrives at school after 8:55 AM, parents must park their vehicle, walk their child to the office, and sign them in.

If you deliver your child's lunch to school, label the bag with your child's name and bring it to the main office. The office staff will ensure your child receives their meal before lunchtime.
