This trimester our fourth graders will be conducting hands on investigations to learn about energy. Students have really enjoyed working in teams to solve all different types of challenges. Students began the unit by being given a battery, wires and a bulb and had to make the bulb light. Since then students have tested different objects to see if they can figure out which materials conduct electricity. We are really looking forward to continuing this unit as students will dig deeper into electricity and magnetism by creating their very own electro-magnet!
In Reading Workshop our 4th graders learned all about research. We loved seeing our students become experts in all different kinds of weather. They learned the importance of finding multiple sources to find reliable information. Students then worked in teams to share their findings with their peers. All groups showed such creativity through their posters and Google slide presentations.
